Over ten years ago, I decided to create a blog, using the platform to propel my personal brand. What began with photographing live music events all around the UK and creating supporting content online, turned into five years of capturing shots and writing reviews of the latest beauty and lifestyle products… marketing my content predominantly on social media where I built engaged communities of my own. This lead to others wanting to know how they could achieve the same results and asking me to coach them.
Now, I work as a Freelance Community Manager and Social Media Manager, most commonly in London (UK), helping brands to develop a consistent voice online, create engaging and converting content, and build, improve and nurture relationships with customers through proactive and reactive engagement.
Over the years I have worked with agencies and clients like John Lewis & Partners, adam&eveDDB, BRASS, Under The Influence, Fragrance Group London, Harmonic, COTY, Estée Lauder Companies, House of Fraser, Lucozade Ribena Suntory, NiQuitin, Michael Bublé Fragrances and Travelex.
But I believe too many brands are still stuck when it comes to community management and social media (or are missing a huge opportunity because they haven't invested in them purposefully yet). With good intentions but out-of-date strategies and limited resources, brands find themselves just getting by online when they could be excelling.
I've helped entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs, PLCs, agencies and other well-known brands from a variety of industries with social media and community management (including fashion and beauty, weddings and events, photography, home decor and textiles, electricals and home technology, food and drink, brand and web design, marketing and advertising, life and business coaching, education, music, motorsports, travel, health and wellbeing, finance, lifestyle and pharmaceuticals). My current clients range from retail to the wedding industry, and from a mental health charity to luxury skincare.
I've supported brands to increase their social audience and customer/client base with organic and paid media, managed accounts with 0 - 1.3 million+ followers, engaged with celebrities and brands my clients are working with (or want to work with), made social media the #1 acquisition channel for e-commerce websites, streamed global launch events and engaged in the moment along with viral threads and posts, worked on campaigns with influencers, increased conversions and ultimately sales, run a partnership contest for United Airlines x Travelex, streamlined market communications, escalated matters, created tone of voice/response guidelines, audited and analysed their online presence, trained colleagues, and worked alongside customer service/PR/category marketing/copy and leadership teams. Most recently I have worked on the John Lewis & Partners 2018 Christmas Advert, The Boy and the Piano featuring Sir Elton John, the John Lewis & Partners rebrand including Bohemian Rhapsody Ad Launch, Lucozade Ribena Suntory recipe changes and the launches of Michael Bublé’s debut fine fragrances for women - By Invitation and By Invitation Rose Gold.
I continue to work closely with my contacts at Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Snapchat, along with a variety of large UK-based agencies, brands and influencers to stay on top of the latest features, news, trends and policies in social media and community management so I can adapt and implement based on my learnings and recent reports.
I have diplomas in Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing Your Business, Web Design, Graphic Design, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Excel, along with 10 years experience.
I was also a Finalist for ‘Freelance Social Media Marketer Of The Year’ in the Social Day Social Media Marketing Awards 2018.

THIS IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED…
2008 - I started blogging about live music events due to a keen interest in event photography, having seen 500+ artists (from One Direction, Michael Bublé, Arctic Monkeys and Justin Bieber to Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, Paramore and Enter Shikari). After an operation which meant I had to learn to walk again, I unfortunately couldn't continue to create new content for this which led me to work on my next passion project.
2009 - I started a new blog about beauty and lifestyle products - a second love of mine and an increasingly popular niche. Through a strong SEO and social media strategy, I consistently hit 6-figure traffic stats each month. I monetised this blog through affiliate income & sponsored posts, and worked with agencies/brands across the globe on content creation and influencer marketing campaigns. I loved this and the opportunities that came from hard work, but it was became clear that I was destined for another new challenge after five years.
2014 - I rebranded my blog due to the vast number of people seeking my guidance. Within one year I left my job as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to blog and coach others full time. I created various digital products (e-books, online courses and workshops), and saw my blog posts each shared over 10,000 times on social media. After taking a few months off at the end of 2015 to focus on my health, I made a key decision to delete and deactivate my entire online presence in attempt to start afresh with less pressure and consumption in my daily life.
2016 - I reevaluated my goals and realised my big vision of helping brands. This gave me the opportunity to put my love of nurturing online communities and relationships into practise each and every day. I've since worked with hugely inspiring businesses globally and continue to do so, with word-of-mouth being my biggest source of clients. Sparked Passion became a Limited Company in 2018 and now has a number of highly-skilled contractors available for additional support when my schedule is full.
